Heritage Society

The Troop 1 Heritage Society was created to insure the future of Scouting by concerned people contributing to the Northeast Iowa Council's Endowment Fund. The Endowment Fund of the Northeast Iowa Council holds all assets in perpetuity. The council utilizes the earnings for its annual program. The Endowment Fund is professionally managed to insure maximum security of the fund.

Helping You, Help Scouting

A growing number of caring adults have already made gifts to the Troop 1 Heritage Society. Some gifts are yielding immediate value such as gifts of CASH, REAL ESTATE, STOCK or LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES.

Other Troop 1 members have chosen a Future gift by including the Northeast Iowa Council Endowment Fund in their WILL, establishing a CHARITABLE TRUST or participating in the BSA POOLED INCOME FUND. Whether an immediate or a future gift, one can be right for you.

Our tax laws encourage charitable gifts of this kind. Substantial Tax Savings can be realized by gifts to Troop 1 Society. Your accountant or a trust officer can explain the tax advantages of your gift.

Shaping our Future

Many Iowans view the future of our country with due concern. Now, more than ever before, we must renew our efforts to instill ethical values in our youth. The Northeast Iowa Council, Boy Scouts of America has been shaping the lives of Iowa's youth since 1917. The youth of today are required to make more and tougher decisions at a younger age, and they need our help more than ever before.

How they learn to make tough decisions and gain positive experiences is not as difficult as it sounds. An opportunity is all it takes - an opportunity to develop; an opportunity to participate; an opportunity to prove one's self. These opportunities can be found in Scouting.

Today, Scouting in the Northeast Iowa Council reaches more youth than ever through fun-filled, educational activities, and teaching of a value system worth supporting. The program of the Boy Scouts of America affects the lives of boys from age 6 to 14, and high school age young men and women to age 21. The result is a positive influence on character, citizenship and personal fitness. Our youth of today are America's future leaders. We have the opportunity to help shape America's future by investing in the Troop 1 Heritage Society today in support of the endowment of the Northeast Iowa Council.
